vesting: Description of how a property is owned, as appears on the deed. Examples of vesting are sole ownership, tenancy in common, joint tenancy, and trust.

voluntary encumbrance: Property lien made through the owner's decision, such as a mortgage or mechanic's lien. See also involuntary encumbrance.
